Leimebamba

In the forest above this town, you can expect to be thrilled mainly by Russet-mantled Softtail and a variety of hummingbirds - Glowing Puffleg, Violet-throated Starfrontlet, Mountain Velvetbreast and Sword-billed Hummingbird are among the possibilities. Further up, the paramo-type/scrub habitat is home to many typical Andean birds, such as Andean Flicker, Curve-billed Tinamou, Moustached Flowerpiercer and Black-crested Tit-Tyrant. 

Connecting Sites
It is half a day's drive to Pomacochas from this area, or about the same down the spectacular road into the Marañon Valley to Balsas.
